Questions about eSIM in Reunion
- Does a Butacell eSIM work in Reunion?
- Yes. Butacell roams in Reunion rather than using one fixed operator, so the eSIM attaches to whichever partner network is available where you are, with 5G where that network offers it.
- How much does an eSIM for Reunion cost?
- Plans for Reunion start at $1.99. Allowances run from 1 GB to 20 GB, each with a fixed number of days.
- Do I have to take out my own SIM card?
- No. The eSIM is data only and sits alongside your own SIM, so your usual number keeps receiving calls and messages while you use Butacell for data.
- When does the plan start counting?
- The days begin when the eSIM first connects to a network abroad, not when you buy it. You can buy and install it before you leave without losing a day.
- Which phones can use it?
- Any phone that supports eSIM and is not locked to an operator. Install the QR code while you still have internet, normally before you fly.
- What if I travel to Reunion again?
- Buy another pack and it attaches to the eSIM you already installed. There is no second QR code and nothing to reinstall.
