Check your device before buying

Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked for other carriers. Check your exact model and country variant with the manufacturer, and confirm the lock status with your carrier. An Add eSIM option in settings is a useful first check, but does not confirm compatibility on its own. If unsure, contact support with the exact model before purchasing.

Install your eSIMUse a stable Wi-Fi connection. Open My Butacell, select Trips & packs and choose Show QR for the correct device. On iPhone, go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. On Android, look for Add eSIM in the SIM or mobile network settings. You can also enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code shown in your account. Keep the installed eSIM: later packs for that device reuse it. Check the plan’s activation rules before installation.Add balance and buy more dataSign in and open Top up. Choose an amount and continue to the payment provider. After returning, wait for the payment status to be confirmed. Adding balance does not automatically buy a plan. Open the catalogue, select your device and confirm the plan purchase. If an earlier order needs more balance, the account page keeps a link to retry it. Do not pay again while a payment is still pending.Manage eSIMs for your devicesOpen Devices in your account. Add a device with a recognisable name before buying for a friend or another phone. Choose that device when purchasing. Its first purchase assigns an eSIM; subsequent packs reuse that eSIM. Archiving a device hides it from normal use and prevents new purchases until restored. Check the device name before sharing installation details.Get connected at your destinationCheck that the plan covers your destination and is active with data remaining. In phone settings, enable the Butacell eSIM, select it for mobile data and enable data roaming on that eSIM. Keep roaming off on your home SIM if you do not want to use its roaming service. Try airplane mode briefly, then reconnect. Do not delete the eSIM to troubleshoot: reinstall limits may apply. Contact support with your device model and destination if you still cannot connect.
