Yes. Butacell roams in Papua New Guinea rather than using one fixed operator, so the eSIM attaches to whichever partner network is available where you are, with LTE where that network offers it.
How much does an eSIM for Papua New Guinea cost?
Plans for Papua New Guinea start at $11.59. Allowances run from 1 GB to 20 GB, each with a fixed number of days.
Do I have to take out my own SIM card?
No. The eSIM is data only and sits alongside your own SIM, so your usual number keeps receiving calls and messages while you use Butacell for data.
When does the plan start counting?
The days begin when the eSIM first connects to a network abroad, not when you buy it. You can buy and install it before you leave without losing a day.
Which phones can use it?
Any phone that supports eSIM and is not locked to an operator. Install the QR code while you still have internet, normally before you fly.
What if I travel to Papua New Guinea again?
Buy another pack and it attaches to the eSIM you already installed. There is no second QR code and nothing to reinstall.
